It’s not just about having a website, getting a good website to represent your brand/business is very important.

A couple of years ago, I got a project and had to deliver it within a week, but because I had other projects I was working on, I decided to buy a script online to save time. Although, that’s not my style. I love to code from scratch.

I got the script and test-run it; at least it works 95% perfectly, but when I checked the codes, I discovered it was badly written. Although it worked well but not well-written. I noticed so many loopholes, the security is very low, it was not SEO friendly, and the backend & database had bad code and were not well structured.

I tried to fix it but guess what? I had to start the project from scratch. Whatever is worth doing at all, is worth doing well. It’s too expensive to use the bad coded script to develop a website for a client; I understand that someone else company depends on the project.

A website is not worthy of being called a good website without:

1. Maximum security to secure the website and its users from any form of attack.
2. User-friendly i.e easy-to-use and understand.
3. Mobile friendly, according to research 80% of internet users mostly use mobile devices; so if your website is not rendering well on a mobile device, then it’s not going to help your business grow because your users will be frustrated using your website. 
4. Must be SEO friendly: If your website is not on a search engine like Google then it doesn’t exist. More than 3.5 billion searches are made every day on Google alone, and most of your competitors are competing for top spots in the search results. So, your website must be SEO-friendly to rank well.

In conclusion

A good website; is measured by being well-designed i.e easy-to-use, able to grab visitors’ attention, wake up their emotions, and convert the visitor to potential clients/customers then the backend must be well structured and functional, and security must be strong, and SEO friendly.
